Recently I've got a Intel Core 2 macbook and I wanted to have Debian/GNU Linux installed in it. Following some articles, I successfully did it.It is easier than I expected.
You can do it following these steps.
1.Get Bootcamp and rEFIt.The latest version of Bootcamp is 1.3 and the latest version of rEFIt is 0.10. You can download them here.
http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/publicbeta.html
http://refit.sourceforge.net/
2.Install Bootcamp and rEFIt.
You do not have to burn a CD for installing Windows when using Bootcamp. You can resize your disk and make a partition for Linux. I just reserved 14GB for Linux(and I felt regret for what I did then, because I want to use Linux as the main OS.)
After rEFIt was installed, run /efi/refit/enable-always.sh as root.
3.Installing Debian.
I recommended that you use the weekly-build Debian DVD to install Debian. You can dowwnload it here.

You may need to use jigdo or bt if the network speed is slow.
Put the DVD in your DVD driver and reboot your Macbook. Then a menu will appear and you can install Debian now.A /home partition and a / partition with swapfile or a / partition and a swap partition is recommended.
When it asks you to install grub, just install it. It works well ,as far as I can see.
Unfortunately, you may need to edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst file yourself.
4.That is all!
You can reboot your macbook and configure Debian. Most of the hardware works fine.I don't know how to use wireless network and iSight.
